Scholars in Residence

The Scholars in Residence Program is designed to create opportunities for visiting scholars to share innovative digital scholarship approaches with the Emory community and to demonstrate how digital scholarship is changing higher education.

Residency Details

The selected scholar for the residency, which is scheduled over several days during the university's fall semesters, offers:

  • A presentation about the individual's digital scholarship for the Emory community
  • A workshop on digital scholarship in pedagogy for faculty and graduate students

The residency provides:

  • The opportunity to hold meetings with faculty and graduate students to foster collaboration across institutions and disciplines
  • An honorarium

Application Details

ECDS announces a call for applications on its regular communications channels, such as its website, blog, and Twitter feed. We only accept applications for the residency during the posted interval.

Scholars working in any discipline and at any career stage may apply. Potential topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Data visualization and GIS
  • Film, video, and other media production
  • Open access/data/educational resources and tools
  • Text analysis
  • Topic modeling

Applications should include:

  • A one-page proposal describing proposed topics for the research talk and pedagogy workshop and potential disciplines for collaborative meetings
  • The applicant's current CV
