Tim Rainey is Ph.D student within the Graduate Division of Religion at Emory studying American Religious Cultures. His research focuses on economics, race and religion in the 19th century Atlantic world (especially regarding notions of labor, social mobility mythology, uplift rhetoric and the ways each have changed over time).
